Nikhil Yedulla

Nikhil is a junior in the MedStart program at Wayne State University majoring in Biological Sciences and Economics. He hopes to pursue initiatives in the healthcare sphere that combine clinical care, basic science, and entrepreneurship.


Nikhil is involved in research at the Wayne State School of Medicine, currently investigating the effects of anti-epileptic drug valproate on beta-cell insulin secretion, viability of carbon-linked glycopeptide analogues as cryoprotectants, and proteomic characterization of human blood platelets. Additionally, Nikhil has maintained leadership roles at school and in the community. He has served as a Student Senator, founder of a medical supply collection initiative in Metro-Detroit, volunteer leader at a health clinic for uninsured patients, executive board member for Wayne State’s Collegiate Neuroscience Society chapter, and captain for various case competition teams.


During free time, Nikhil enjoys working out, following the NBA, and talking Game of Thrones.
