Mauranda Upchurch

Mauranda Upchurch is an undergraduate student at Stanford University, studying Human Biology with a focus in health policy and economics.

Mauranda’s interests lean heavily toward addressing the lack of basic health education and access disparities based on wealth. She hopes help restructure the failing health system nation-wide by using a trickle down method of administrative remodeling, real-world implementation of proven research, and implementation of biotechnology.

This upcoming summer, she looks forward to working with the Dekalb Community Service Board’s Prevention and Early Intervention Program to teach mental health awareness and connect low-income communities on the East Side of Atlanta, GA to mental health resources.
