Irene Li

Irene is a PhD student studying Cancer Biology at Stanford. Interested in researching the intersection between bioinformatics and genomics, she is similarly encouraged by ImpactMed’s philosophy of connecting policy, investment, and health.

Throughout her scientific career, she has interrogated liver cancer metastasis and metabolism, colorectal cancer signaling networks, and breast cancer epidemiology. She is a published researcher in Scientific Reports and American Association of Cancer Research Bardos Scholar, and represented MSU’s College of Natural Science in speaking engagements across the country.

Irene received a dual BS in Genetics and Global Community Health at Michigan State University, where she principally founded and curated the interdisciplinary TEDxMSU conference series.

On the side, Irene enjoys singing, learning about local flora and fauna, exploring secondhand bookstores, and playing frisbee.
